Bruce Williams didn't set out to be the most listened-to radio talk show host in America it seems to have been his destiny. He started his career in talk radio in 1975. Back then, he was simply a businessman sharing some knowledge and expertise on a variety of subjects with radio listeners at WCTC in New Jersey. His show was called "At Your Service," and was soon followed by a second show, "Bruce Williams At Large." In 1981, he became one of the original nightly hosts on the NBC Radio Talknet, which subsequently became part of Westwood One Radio Network.
On the air, Bruce is still sharing his thoughts and giving advice, he's still talking about what he does and what he thinks and trying to help listeners resolve their, only now, there's approximately 400 stations nationwide carrying his three-hour live program nightly to an estimated eight million listeners. Bruce's show is now, 15 years after its inception, the longest-running long-form show in radio, and the most -listened-to nighttime show in the country. In 1994, Bruce was chosen by his talk show peers to receive the prestigious Radio Talk Show host of the Year award.
He is the author of In Business For Yourself, HouseSmart, CreditSmart, and a tape series, The Roadmap to Financial Security. He writes a thrice-weekly newspaper column for United Features Syndicate, entitled Smart Money, which is distributed to more than 600 newspapers nationwide, and he packs auditoriums and entertains audiences with his live presentation, "An Evening with Bruce Williams." Bruce's audiences, whether in radio or at his personal appearances, reflect an incredibly wide demographic range--from teens to senior citizens. Why is Bruce so popular? He says it best: "I stimulate my listeners and educate them in the process. I share my life with them and listen to what's going on in theirsthat's how I know America is listening."
