Tony Award-winning actress Bernadette Peters has dazzled audiences and critics in Broadway's most popular musicals throughout her illustrious career. In June 1999, she earned her second Tony Award, her third Drama Desk Award, and an Outer Critics Circle Award for her showstopping portrayal of Annie Oakley in the smash Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun.

Peters has starred in the highly-acclaimed TV movies as well, including: Cinderella with Brandy and Whitney Houston; Holiday in Your Heart with Leann Rimes on ABC; CBS's What the Deaf Man Heard; and NBC's The Odyssey, starring Armand Assante.

Peters performing career began at the age of three on the classic TV game show Name That Tune, and The Horn & Hardart Children's Hour. She made her theatrical debut in This is Google, starring James Daly and Kim Hunter and directed by the legendary Otto Preminger.

She made her Broadway debut in 1967 in Johnny No-Trump, and in 1968 starred with Joel Grey in the musical George M!. Her performance as Josie Cohan in George M! earned her the coveted Theatre World Award. Later that same year, Peters received a Drama Desk Award for her showstopping performance in the smash off-Broadway musical Dames at Sea. In a matter of only a few years she had become one of the most sought-after stars in musical theater.

While Peters is best known for her work in the theater, her career goes far beyond the footlights of Broadway. She also boasts an impressive list of television credits. Included among some of her most memorable performances are specials such as, PBS' Evening at Pops and The Kennedy Center Honors. She has also made appearances on The Carol Burnett Show, and an Emmy-nominated performance on The Muppet Show.

A performer of unparalleled versatility, Peters has lit up the silver screen in 14 films throughout her distinguished career. She was honored with a Golden Globe Award for her memorable performance in Pennies From Heaven. In addition to that role, she has starred in movies such as The Jerk with Steve Martin, The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds, Silent Movie with Mel Brooks, Pink Cadillac with Clint Eastwood, Woody Allen's Alice with Mia Farrow, and Impromptu with Hugh Grant.
